It was the decision of Cardinal Gasparri, accompanied by another curial companion, to change the shroud. December 1928 is considered to be the date of the regrettable event (we were unable to determine the day). For this reason, we consider 1928 to be the date on which the crime was committed

In 1931, Giuseppe Enrie's test was anxiously awaited, but no difference was detected. The deception has succeeded. Those in charge could not suspect that the Sindon analysis would be so clear-cut. [Pierre Barbet could not have imagined that it would be so successful. Presumably, the fingerprint will be considered a by-product of vaporization and the bloodstain a mark of blood coagulation

A skilful falsification began when someone found a piece of linen (crossed 4 in a herringbone) manufactured in 1220 (Jaffa) of larger dimensions, cut into 4.371 x 1.116. (Pius X, Benedict XV, Pius XI, John XXIII and John Paul I were unaware of the affair. We do not know if Pius XII was informed by A.Ottaviani). The fraudulent exchange of the shroud took place in 1928 (Turin).

Once official science has made you see the medieval deception of the Shroud, you begin to see "very clearly" the enigma of the imprint of the traces of the body. This would explain why such an imprint is not cleared up by the transfer of exogenous products secreted by the decomposing body. On the contrary, it has been proven that the traces left on the sheet are due to a turning of the fabric molecules caused by high temperature (over 200 degrees). This would be due to the fact that the shroud had not been painted, but instead had been falsified using a reproduction of Jesus, made of a metal alloy and heated to semi-incandescence. But the enigma has not been so simply dismantled. Let's analyze the question dispassionately, coldly and scientifically. Who, in an age of cultural obscurantism, would be capable of such a prodigy? It would have had to have been a man familiar with photographic optics, capable of understanding what a negative would be and foreseeing what Secondo Pia would discover in 1898, and that in the middle of the 20th century we would obtain a three-dimensional image, ahead of NASA technicians. The unknown counterfeiter would also have had to have an erudition, not only of how men braided their hair in those days, but also of the texture with which a weave was made, elaborate with linen.

Most astonishing would be the forensic knowledge of a man capable of locating on a hand the exact point of crucifixion, by locating it on the area of the carpus that you anatomically call "Destot's Point". Don't forget that the artists of the time painted the body nailed in the palmar areas, and his mastery of rendering by means of expert criminological knowledge, the abuse resulting from the torture to which the victim was subjected. What's more, it draws the attention of anyone who penetrates the hyper-puritanical mentality of the time to the lack of modesty demonstrated by depicting the trace of her body's nudity.

You must understand that the character of Jesus only became historical years after His crucifixion and presumed Resurrection. Before that, He was regarded only as a prophet, whose fame really rose after He performed amazing healings, notably after He miraculously revived Lazarus.
